My research focuses on computational proteomics, especially mass spectrometry-based top-down proteomics, which can identify various proteoforms in biological samples. My lab develops methods and software tools for top-down mass spectrometry-based proteoform identification, characterization, and quantitation. These efficient software tools, including TopFD, TopPIC and TopMG, are widely used in the proteomics community. They facilitate the application of top-down mass spectrometry in disease biomarker discovery, proteoform database annotation, and protein function studies.

My lab is recruiting PhD and Master's students, research assistants, and postdocs. The research area is to develope algorithms and machine learning models for proteomics data analysis. Prospective PhD and Master's students can apply for the programs in the Department of Computer Science or the School of Medicine: PhD program in Computer Science, Interdiciplinary PhD program, Biomedical Informatics Master's program. If you are interested, please send your CV to me.
